Want to Prevent Hair Loss? Try These Yoga Moves!
by Alexandra Kilpatrick

From hormonal issues to pollution to chemical treatments, a myriad of factors can cause hair loss.
Other causes include illnesses, reactions to medications, excessive brushing or combing, insufficient hair care, overexposure to UV rays, repeated contact with chlorinated water, excessive smoking or vitamin deficiency.
The most common type of hair loss, androgenetic alopecia is caused by heredity, androgens and age.
In order to allow normal hair growth, you should eat a balanced diet with a diversity of food groups like fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, cereals and dairy products. You should also consume six to eight cups of water per day. According to The Hindu, studies show that 90 percent of hair loss sufferers eat less than one fruit per day, do not drink enough water and fail to eat breakfast.
You should also keep your hair clean by washing it two to three times per week, brushing your hair regularly and avoiding harsh chemicals and styling products. You can stimulate hair growth by massaging your hair with coconut oil.
Yoga and meditation can also help prevent and treat hair loss. Yoga helps to enhance blood circulation through the scalp, improve digestion and reduce anxiety and stress levels. Try these asanas and pranayama to protect your locks.
