Try Raw Juice for Strong Hair Today
by Angela Santoriello

Lots of juice helps jumpstart hair health.
“Consuming raw vegetables, alliums and certain fruit in juice form is the best way to ensure your hair is glossy and healthy,” the Daily Mail reports.
With several different kinds including garlic, onion and aloe vera, certain fruit and vegetable drinks make a notable difference from scalp protection to preventing hair loss. Beginning with juices high in vitamin C—an antioxidant that guards follicles—an array of beverages offer many benefits and begin with Kiwi.
“Kiwi fruits also contain a wide variety of flavonoids and carotenoids, which can also act as antioxidants. Kiwi fruits also contain small amounts of copper, a mineral that is known to contribute to hair pigmentation,” reports the Daily Mail, adding guavas are also high in vitamin C. “Guavas, like papaya, are said to be particularly rich in the antioxidant carotenoids lycopene, lutein and cryptoxanthin which may also have a protective effect,” reports The Daily Mail.
Staying on sweet, strawberries also offer high levels of C, with the antioxidant building a strong immune system that inevitably guards hair follicles. Like most berries, they contain a wide selection of antioxidant flavonoids and specifically anthocyanins, which give them their brilliant colour,” reports the Daily Mail, noting the next and less indulging high Vitamin C vegetable. “Cucumber again contains antioxidant nutrients such as vitamin C, manganese and beta carotene, as well as a number of flavonoids, all of which may help to protect the hair follicles.”
Like cucumbers, the notion of green vegetables and even a plant remain popular in promoting healthy hair with spinach, coriander and aloe vera next on the list. “Like spinach, coriander is a source of iron, which can help to prevent the iron deficiency that typically leads to hair loss in women,” reports the Daily Mail. “It’s also a source of copper, which is needed for hair pigmentation, and manganese, which has antioxidant activity.”
Most often used for sun burned skin, aloe vera also aids in hair growth and health according to some research that suggests along with Vitamin C and E, all B vitamins—B1, B2, B3 and B6 –, as well as “minerals zinc, copper and iron,” that strengthen the immune system. “Aloe vera juice contains a substance called acemannan that may help to balance and support the immune system,” reports the Daily Mail.
Onions and carrots—both high in biotin known for hair growth—are also great juices to drink. While onions have some copper to support hair pigmentation, they’re also a fantastic source of flavonoids - especially quercetin - that have antioxidant effects. “Carrots are also rich in antioxidant carotenoids, and they provide huge amounts of beta carotene, which can be converted into vitamin A in the body - a vital nutrient for immune system balance,” reports the Daily Mail.
Saving the less appealing for last, “garlic has a strong antibacterial and antifungal effect,” inevitably slowing hair loss, but “applying garlic juice to the scalp could be very effective at bringing any infections under control and restoring balance.” Also a “good source of the mineral selenium,” garlic can be eaten as well as drinking, “but the amounts in a juice are likely to be more concentrated,” reports the Daily Mail.
