Review: Procerin for Hair Loss

Is there an all-natural solution to hair loss? Procerin claims to be. Procerin is a supplement used to treat androgenetic alopecia, the number one cause of hair loss in males (and also in some women experiencing genetic hair loss). Men with androgenic alopecia have elevated levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a chemical byproduct of the male hormone, testosterone. The active ingredients in Procerin are designed to stop testosterone from converting to DHT, thereby preventing hair loss.

What’s in Procerin?

The Procerin system involves both an oral tablet and a topical solution. The tablet includes several alleged DHT blockers, in cluding saw palmetto, zinc sulfate, magnesium, pyroxidine, gotu kola, nettles, pumpkin seed, muira puma root, eleuthero root, and uva ursi. Some of these ingredients, such as saw palmetto and nettle root extract have been used to treat enlarged prostates, and some suggest that they might also be able to treat alopecia. Additionally, Zinc, combined with Vitamin B6, is thought to be able to inhibit DHT production in the skin. Eleuthero root and uva ursi promote healthy hair growth.

How is Procerin Taken?

The tablets and topical treatment may be taken separately, but are recommended to be taken together for best results. Men apply the topical solution twice daily (it is recommended that you not shampoo hair for at least four hours after application). The oral tablets are also taken twice daily.

Does Procerin Have Side Effects?

According to Procerin’s website, side effects include mild stomach discomfort and from the topical formula, skin irritation.

How Much Does Procerin Cost?

Procerin is available as a six-month supply for $119.95.

Does Procerin Work?

It’s very appealing to think that an all-natural product can solve hair loss. Ultimately, however, it’s uncertain whether Procerin really works to solve hair loss. First, it does not work for women. Second, not all users have been pleased with Procerin’s results. Third, most users who have notice positive results from Procerin reported that once they stopped taking the supplements, hair loss returned. Procerin is, at best, a short-term solution. For permanent results, it’s best to select a professional treatment. Hair transplant surgery or hair restoration treatments are the reliable way to permanently restore hair.
