Prince William and Rogaine: A Royal Match

by Kylie Corrall

Hair loss presents a challenge that 85% of men and 55% of women will struggle with in their lifetime. Prince William has long struggled with his own hair loss and was offered a chance to promote Rogaine for hair growth. William, whose hair used to be full of wavy, golden locks, is now partially bald.

It seems like Prince William isn’t the only one in his family that has suffered from the same fate, however. His father King Charles III and brother Prince Harry have both suffered from the same Male Pattern Baldness that he has. For the men of the royal family throughout history, it seems like age and genetics go hand-in-hand with their shared bald spots. And for many, hair loss is in fact a consequence of genetics and age.

Although it looks like the prince hasn't undergone any hair loss treatments, there are still ways to reduce hair loss symptoms for those who suffer from the same fate. For those battling hair loss and hair loss symptoms, there are many treatments to choose from. Follicular hair and follicular unit transportation, two kinds of hair transplants; vampire treatments; and natural remedies that thicken hair are just a few of the options that can cure hair loss ailments. Hair loss medicine is another course of action, with Rogaine being one of the two only prescriptions approved by the FDA.

Prince William and Rogaine: A Winning Combination?

In 2011, Prince William tied the knot with Princess Catherine Middleton. Not long before the country gathered to see them married, Rogaine themselves offered Prince William a chance to represent and promote the company's product, solve his own baldness, and have the best wedding possible. With pressure on the royal family to be the face of the United Kingdom through thick and thin, baldness can present a bit of a problem. And sure enough, reporters have picked up on the prince’s hair struggles over the years.

According to the Daily Express, the company claimed they'd been watching the prince's bald spot carefully over the years, while also evaluating the health of his hair. They stated that he would be the perfect person to represent Rogaine's mission to provide effective hair regrowth possibilities to thousands in the country. Prince William as the face of Rogaine would help him handle his hair loss with ease, but it would also be a great way to reach millions of men and women suffering from the same condition.

Did Rogaine and Prince William Work Together?

It's no secret that Prince William's hair has thinned steadily since his offer from Rogaine. And although he's politely ignored their offer, the prince does not seem to have undergone any other procedure for hair growth. However, even if it’s not a worry for Prince William, hair loss is a major concern for many men and women.

For those who are not of royal descent but still struggle with rapidly thinning hair, Rogaine is a great option. Studies have proven that this medicine causes hair loss to decrease, encouraging partial regrowth and overall hair health. Rogaine, which is a Minoxidil solution, increases the blood flow to thinning areas of the scalp, causing hair follicles to grow, becoming more healthy in the process. When taken for hair loss, Rogaine’s anti-inflammatory properties are thought to contribute to a longer growth period for hair, increasing the chance of thicker hair compared to before.

However, it has also been found that Rogaine's effectiveness diminishes over time, so it won't permanently treat hair loss. Other effective ways to fight hair loss can include restoration practices such as surgical and nonsurgical procedures that work to restore bald spots, spur hair growth, increase healthy hair follicles, and restore confidence to those suffering from a wide range of symptoms. Diet and lifestyle changes can be a wonderful alternative for those seeking a more natural solution as well.

Prince William and Rogaine might not have worked out, but that doesn't mean you can't benefit from this hair-restoring product.
