It's Kind of Like Magic: How You Can Get Jennifer Aniston's Hair
by Angela Santoriello

Calling her the “go to hair goddess,” People Magazine reported just how Jennifer Aniston has had a good hair day for almost two decades.
Aside from landing Brad Pitt in the ‘90s, Aniston’s head of hair literally swept the nation, with women all over America wanting the “Rachel” from the hit television sitcom Friends. A bob or long or straight or wavy, Aniston’s hair has was always been awesome whether you like the Aveeno spokeswoman or not.
Aniston’s film career has keep her hair front and center, leading Aniston to help create her own hair care line. Co-owner of Living Proof products with a “We” believe philosophy, the company deems truth and quality first, saying they are not traditional, instead promoting invention and the promise that “beauty and brains are the best formula.”
“We believe in day-making, bliss-creating, confidence-boosting results,” says Living Proof, co-owned with Chris McMillan, Aniston’s best friend and stylist. “We believe you are the living proof.” Backing their believe with action, Aniston and McMillan test the products for a period before promoting to the public.
“Chris and I usually get samples like six months before so we get to try it out and see how it lasts over time and then give feedback for it,” Aniston tells People, adding it is wonderful to be part of the process. Her best friend on the sitcom and in real life, Aniston asks former co-star Courtney Cox to also give her products a try. “They allow me to sort of use their hair, they’re like Barbie dolls,” she said of Cox and friends, noting Cox has “gorgeous hair.”
And it is not just about the look, but the smell that matters even more. “For me that’s always a big thing, that it isn’t too fragrant-y or perfume-y. It’s so fresh and so light, so incredible,” said Aniston. With her own .net site of all things Aniston, the actress, producer and 46-year-old businesswoman, named one of the entertainment industry’s top females reportedly worth more than a $100 million has made beauty seem effortless with her girl next door looks and charm.
As the first ever GQ “Woman of the Year” a decade ago, her less is more look has always promoted natural beauty. And to get that look, Aniston literally sleeps on it with the Night Cap Overnight Perfector.
“Honestly, I don’t know what they did or how they did it, but I woke up in the morning and my hair was so shiny and vibrant and the color looked great and it wasn’t dirty or greasy and there wasn’t a spot on my pillow,” she said. “I don’t understand it. It’s kind of like magic.”
Another pro tip Living Proof offers is not to cleanse hair daily. “That’s the tip I took from Chris,” revealed Aniston. “I was never able to do that because of all the silicones and oils in other products. I wasn’t able to go two or three days like I can now. And that really saves the healthier hair.” The perfect style for a day- or two-old head of hair is of course the ponytail, but as for the furtive to perfection, there is none; rather it is a person not a procedure. “There’s no ponytail that doesn’t move, every ponytail should move,” said Aniston. “I just put it up and go. If it looks right, that’s Chris.”
Though we may not all have hair to die for like Jen, we can take her advice and use her products, getting closer to the prospect of “Rachel” than ever before.
