Lasers Are The Future of Healthy Hair
by Angela Santoriello

Tom Magliaro got the attention of former NFL star Ryan Pontbriand.
When the 9-year Cleveland Browns snapper realized his hair was thinning, it was not too late for the player. Pontbriand shared his story in a TM Hair testimonial, explaining how uncomfortable it was for him to wear a football helmet for almost a decade during his career.
“But for me, the decision to keep my helmet on for the majority of the game was easy,” Pontbriand said. “I didn’t want fans sitting above and behind me to see my balding crown, or as my teammates called it, my sunroof.”
Working with a team in Houston, Texas, Magliaro has been restoring hair, and confidence for more than 40 years. A client himself, Magliaro’s bald “before” to thick hair “after” photos promote the method.
“Low-level laser therapy is a non-invasive stimulation therapy that distributes ‘cold’ laser light to tissues of the scalp,” according to the TM Hair website. “These lasers produce light high in energy, so no radiation or dangerous light is emitted while under therapy. The laser uses ‘cold’ or ‘soft’ light to increase blood flow. The process is one of ‘bio-stimulation.’”
To prevent any further loss, Pontbriand put his faith in laser therapy. “Over the last few years of laser therapy, I have not only stopped my hair loss but started to grow new hairs,” Pontbriand commented. “Make no mistake; I’m no chinchilla back there, but to be less bald is totally worth twenty minutes, 3 times a week.”
While Magliaro serves the stars, it is not all about vanity when it comes to laser therapy. The hair loss specialist donates his expertise to cancer patients at Texas Children’s Hospital M.D. Cancer Center and other institutions.
Magliaro also hosts an up-to-date blog, offering tips for keeping a healthy head of hair. Even more importantly, the TM Hair blog educates readers on insurance companies’ coverage of laser therapy for medical patients who suffer from hair loss. Rather than wear a wig, laser therapy restoration claims a more natural feel.
“We can re-create the hairstyle the patient had prior to chemo treatments; from matching color, density, and even texture of the strands. The prosthesis is customized and made to fit the prescription of each patient’s unique scalp,” reports TM Hair in an October blog post. With hair replacement specialists all over the world, laser therapy is a not only a notable method of hair restoration, it is helping men, like Pontbriand, tackle their confidence issues.
